Rooted in Stewardship…
Not just tree work.
“God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Genesis 1:28

Why Stewardship?
Stewardship means “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.” Genesis 1:28 cites God’s instruction to us to rule over the earth. In this calling, we’re instructed to be stewards of the earth. This is the guiding principle for our land and habitat management services.
Our services are often unconventional for typical land clearing work. But we don’t want to be just another land-clearing company. We want to support what’s best for the land so that it’s around for a long time. Your land is your legacy. We help make it last.
From one family to another,
we know the importance of understanding and preserving land for future generations.
Growing up on his family’s cattle farm in Marengo County, Hunter has been working hard since about age 5. His degree in nursing fulfilled a desire to help people, but it was always just a step toward getting back to the land one day. His life experience, scientific knowledge, and passion for the outdoors have brought him to be one of the best in Black Belt Prairie restoration and land management services.
Being raised by a wildlife biologist taught Jessica the importance of wildlife stewardship. When pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in literature, she had a dream of one day combining her love of writing, human studies, and the Black Belt Prairie. Today, with her business experience and a Master of Science, Jessica runs the daily operations alongside Hunter.

Land Revival began to fill a need…
In 2020, Hunter had worked in some of the most critical hospitals in the south during the pandemic. More than ever, he longed to return to working the land. This return was needed to revive himself and his family.
A need for a contractor to learn and perform the specific services for Black Belt Prairie restoration was presented to Hunter. After many discussions and much thought, Hunter and Jessica started Land Revival with the purpose of reviving the Black Belt Prairie and reviving their family.
Need Lumber?
To help us further support Black Belt Praire restoraiton, we decided to use our farm to be producers of Eastern Red Cedar lumber. This allows us to offer high quality lumber to the public, affords us work during unworkable conditions, and further efforts of habitat management. Check out our website to learn more.
